18K Purple Sapphire Earrings

Large purple faceted sapphires are set in 18k yellow gold and dangle from a leaf designed top. Made in the 1930's, these sapphires are synthetic. The creation of synthetic sapphires is a popular and long known process starting in the 1870s. One of the most synthesized stones, they work fantastically in less expensive fine jewelry and here in the earrings as they are clean throughout and able to catch the light beautifully without inclusions.
