Diamond Buckle Ring

The love of Victorian jewelry and its most popular motifs continued well on into the 20th c. This ring, made in Chester, England c.1915 is 18kt. Two Old European cut diamonds weighing approximately .05 and .03cts are set in 8 pointed star settings. Buckles were a token of love symbolizing eternity while the stars represented guidance and were often set with a central gem as seen here. Makers mark for S.U. Ltd.
