Item No. 250
This large and lovely 18K yellow gold locket has a garter on the front in blue enamel set with seed pearls. Beautiful hand engraving surrounds the interior and exterior of the garter. The Order of the Garter dates to 1348. Because of the symbols connection to this group of righteous men, it has continued to be used since then. It was quite popular during the Victorian era, and along with the buckle motif, used to symbolize eternity and loyalty amongst other virtues.
