An early Victorian micromosaic bracelet. The micromoasics depict roses, tulips and forget-me-nots set in "bulles de savon" opaline glass. Each link is an 18k gold ouroboro snakes, the snake biting its own tail. The snake symbolizes eternity and eternal love. The bracelet has a matching padlock which is also a locket, original to the piece. Made in Italy in the 1820s to 1840s, it has the Italian crossed key mark as well as Belgian guarantee marks. 7 1/2" long.
